Kokiri Sword You get this sword at the beginning of the game. You must go through a maze to find it. Can only be used as a kid. Master Sword This sword is far more powerful than the Kokiri Sword. It is found in the Temple of Time once you get all the spiritual stones. Once pulled out you warp 7 years into the future, and if it is put back in you warp 7 years back in time. Can only be used by Adult Link. Biggoron's Sword (Giant's Knife) You must go through a series of trading sequences to obtain Biggoron's Sword. Click here to learn the sequence. This sword is extremely powerful, but it's so big you must weild it with two hands, leaving you open because you can't use your shield. The Giants Knife is realitively the same, only it breaks after a while. It can be bought from Medigoron on Death Mountain. Shields Deku Shield This shield is fairly strong, but will be destroyed by fire. You can obtain it by buying it at the Kokiri Shop, or it is found in several places across Hyrule if it is burned up and you need a replacement. Can only be used by Young Link. Hylian Shield This shield is about the same as the Deku Shield, but fire cannot harm it. You can find it in the Kakariko Villiage Graveyard as a kid. It can be used by either Young Link or Adult Link. Mirror Shield Again, it is the same strength as the Hylian Shield, but it can reflect beams of light. It is located in the Spirit Temple. Only Adult Link can use it. Apparal Kokiri Tunic Mostly useless, except to give Link clothes. You start with this tunic. Adult Link and Young Link can use this tunic. Kokiri boots You start the game with these boots, and they have no special use. Used by Adult Link and Young Link. Goron Tunic This tunic allows you to enter extreme heat areas like Death Mountain. You can buy it at the Goron shop for 200 rupees, or you can Bomb Darunia's son, which will get his attention. He tells you of his missing father, then gives you the Tunic for free. Can only be used by Adult Link. Iron Boots These boots are extremely heavy. They allow you to sink to the bottom of water and walk around. They are found in the end of the Ice Cavern. Can only be used by Adult Link. Zora Tunic This tunic allows you to breath underwater. King Zora will give it to you after thawing him out, shortly after you become an adult. Only Adult Link can wear this tunic. Hover Boots These boots allow you to walk on air for a very very brief amount of time. They are found in the Shadow Temple and can only be used by Adult Link. Inventory Items Bombs Extremely useful item. It can be used to blow holes in things, blow up enemies, and defeat bosses. You can find them pretty much anywhere, and they can be used by both Adult and Young Link. Bombchu Bombchu's are smart bombs shaped like mice. It can climb up walls, and it will detonate on contact, or after a period of time. You can find them in the bombchu shop or in chests in dungeons and in other places. They can be used by Adult Link and Young Link. Boomerang This is found inside Lord Jabu-Jabu's belly. It is an extremely powerful weapon. Once you throw it, it will rotate and come back to you. It can stun enemies, and be used to gather far off Gold Skullata Tokens. Can only be used by Young Link. Deku Stick These items can be used as swords, matches, or both in a sense. They don't do much damage, but are useful for lighting torches. You can find them pretty much anywhere, and they can be used by both Adult and Young Link. Deku Nut Once thrown at the ground, the flash stuns enemies. They're located almost everywhere, and can be used by both Adult and Young Link. Slingshot The Fairy Slingshot is a fairly strong weapon. It can take out distant enemies, as well as hit far off or high switches. It is located at the beginning of the game in the Deku Tree and can only be used by Young Link. -Deku Seeds - These are used as ammunition for the Fairy Slingshot and are found everywhere as well. Fairy Bow This is the strongest non-sword weapon in the game. It can use any arrow, and can be used while riding Epona. It is located in the Forest Temple, and can only be used by Adult Link. Here is a list of the arrows: -Reg. Arrows - These are the regular arrows. They deal out a fair ammount of damage and are found everywhere. -Fire Arrows - These arrows are Reg. Arrows, plus magic. Fire lights on the tip, and can be used to burn things, light torches, or deal out 2x damage to enemies. Costs 2 MP to fire one arrow. It is obtained by shooting a Reg. Arrow into the rising sun from the stone island at Lake Hylia. -Ice Arrows - These arrows are used to freeze enemies. They do no real damage, and are not required to win the game. They can freeze enemies long enough to run however. They also cost 2 MP. You can obtain it at the Gerudo Training Grounds. -Light Arrows - This is the strongest weapon in the game. Although it costs 4 MP, it can take out any enemy instantly. You get these after gathering all six medallions and then getting them back to the Temple of Time. Hookshot This item shoots an arrow attached to a chain. It can attach to most things, and will pull you to them once it has. It is located in Dampes grave yard, you must beat him in a race. You can find the upgrade (Longshot) in the Water Temple. Megaton Hammer This hammer is extremely heavy and powerful. It is used to pound down heavy switches, and in one case defeat a boss. You cannot use your shield while you have this equiped. It is located in the Fire Temple. Din's Fire This magic item creates a ball of fire, and shoots it in all directions. It can be used to light mulitple torches at once. To find it, bomb the boulder on the side path by Hyrule Castle. The Great Fairy gives it to you. It takes 6 MP. Both Adult and Young Link can use it. Farore's Wind This item is nearly useless, but it allows you to teleport to the beginning of a dungeon. Bomb the rock at the far side of Zora's Fountain to find it. It is used by both Adult and Young Link. Uses 6 MP also. Nayru's Love This magic makes you temporarily Invincible. There is a crack at the Desert Colossus, the Fairy inside will give it to you. Both Adult and Young Link can use it. It takes 12 MP. Lens of Truth This item allows you to see fake walls, or items that are not visible otherwise. You get it at the bottom of the Well in Kakariko Villiage. Both Adult and Young Link can use it. Magic Beans You can plant these beans in soft soil spots found all over Hyrule. You must plant them as a child, then as an adult go back to them. You will find they've grown. Step on them, they will turn into leafs, and you can ride them to hidden spots. You can buy them from the Bean Man at Zora's River. Fairy Ocarina This ocarina allows you to play songs. Each one has a special effects. You learn them throughout the game. Ocarina of Time As the game title, this is the same thing as the Fairy Ocarina, but there are more songs to learn once you get this. Geurdo Membership Card When you get this you may walk amoung the Gerudo's freely without fear of capture. You get this after freeing the Lumberjacks. Stone of Agony If you have this your controller rumbles you get near a secret area. You need a rumble pak of course, unless you have the Gamecube Version. Equipment Deku Seed Bag This is used to hold your Deku Seeds for your Slingshot. It comes with the Fairy Slingshot, and can holy 30 Deku Seeds. It can be upgraded twice. The first one you must score 300 points in three shots at the target in the Lost woods, just right of the entrance. Allows you to carry 40 Deku Seeds. The second one you must shoot all 10 rupees at the Shooting Gallery, located at Hyrule Castle Market. Allows you to carry 50 Deku Seeds. Bomb Bag This allows you to carry up to 20 bombs, and is located in Dodongo's Cavern. Must have this to carry Bombs. You can upgrade it twice. The first upgrade is located at the Bombchu Bowling until the prize is a large brown bag. It may take a bit because all the prizes are random. Allows you to carry 30 bombs. The second upgrade allows you to carry 40 bombs. To get it, bomb the giant rolling Goron in the Goron City when he's next to his sign. Arrow Quiver This Quiver holds 30 arrows for the bow and it comes with the bow. It has two upgrades. The first one upgrades you to 40 arrows, and to obtain it you must get a perfect score at the kakariko Shooting Gallery. Upgrade two gets you 50 arrows and is obtained by geting 1500+ points at the Gerudo Horseback Archery Range. Wallet This allows you to carry rupees. It also comes with two upgrades. For the first one you must collect 10 gold skulltula. Go to the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Villiage, and talk to one of the Cursed men. He will upgrade it to 200 rupees. The second upgrade involves the same of the first, only this time you need 30 Gold Skulltula's. This gets you 500 Rupees. Goron Bracelet This allows you to lift heavy objects. You get it the first time you meet Darunia, leader of the Gorons, by playing Saria's Song in front of him. This is used by Young Link only (Adult Link is that strong without it.) Silver Gauntlets These allow you to lift even heavier objects. It is located in the Spirit Temple and can only be used by Adult Link. Golden Gauntlets These allow you to lift extremely heavy objects. They are located in The Shadow Hall in Ganondorf's Castle. They can only be used with Adult Link. Silver Scale This allows you to dive lower longer and lower. To get it simply complete the Rupee challenge at Zora's Domain. Can be used by both Adult and Young Link. Golden Scale This allows you to dive even deeper. To get it catch a fish that weighs 18+ pounds at the Fishing Pond at Lake Hylia. Other Items Heart Container This increases your health by one full heart. You get one after defeating a dungeon's boss. Effects both Adult and Young Link. Heart Piece You must obtain four of these to equal one Heart Container. There are a total of 36 Heart Pieces hidden throughout Hyrule. Effects both Adult and Young Link. Hearts These refill the Heart Containers that you've lost after a battle. Magic Jars These come in two sizes, big and small. They refill your magic meter. Bottles These can hold various different objects from potions to Fairies. There are a total of 4 bottles. Here are the full list of the containments: -Red Potion - This refills empty hearts. You can buy it at the Potion Shop in either Hyrule Market or Kakariko Villiage Potion Shop. -Green Potion - Refills magic. You can buy it at either the Potion shop in Hyrule Market, or Kakariko Villiage Potion Shop. -Blue Potion - Refills both Health and Magic. Found in the potion shops in either Hyrule Market, or Kakariko Villiage. -Water - Water is fairly useless but you can obtain it. You can get it anywhere theres water. -Fairies - You can use these to refill all of your hearts at your time of choosing, or if you die it will automatically replenish your hearts and allow you to live again. -Fish - You can also hold fish in the bottles. You can buy fish or capture on in ponds/puddles. Masks Masks are sold at the Happy Mask shop in Hyrule Castle Market, and can be sold to make money. Can only be traded as Young Link. Dungeon Items Map Shows a map of the dungeon. Located somewhere in each dungeon. Compass Shows N, NE, NW, W, E, S, SW, SE in the dunegon and helps you navigate the map. Small Keys Open Small Keyhole locks. Boss Key Opens the boss room. |
